This goes out to my Zimbabwean fam looking to make a living from the creative arts. I dedicated this week to those people because you can never have too much publicity. I'm loving the new sounds that upcoming artists are making. The quality of production is impressive backed up by lyrically dynamic writing. To kick off my appreciation of Zimbabwe, I did promo for this upcoming artist. We went to high school together and back then that's when he was sharpening the daggers so that he could slay some MC's today. Not many people saw it and like most artists he had to dig deep to prove himself before any doors opened up for him He is a humble guy so ladies keep one eye on him because you know what happens when a career blows up. Born in London to a Zimbabwean mother and Nigerian father, Drissy Parker is a 22 year old MC/Songwriter who has spent most of his life in London & most memorably Harare. "Moving to Zimbabwe was a major shock factor but that soon faded and I soon blended into my roots pretty swiftly."
Developing a support base online most notably Twitter, his long awaited release Never On Schedule looks set to be one of the most talked about mixtapes of the year. Drissy aims to make music that listeners can feel and relate to as well as make Zimbabwe and the rest of the continent proud. "I hope this mixtape helps Zimbabweans around the world realise that our music is powerful and that we are gifted and its only a matter of time till the world see the lights shine."

I'm excited to see where the music scene is heading but it can only be done by supporting talent. Personally I feel that upcoming music is creatively superior to mainstream especially in the Hip-hop industry. Its refreshing to hear something different.
